AprPAD Day 9, Three Hunters

BIRD IN THE BUSHES

Cat in the bushes,
slinking low to ground,
bird in the bushes,
wings and chirping sound.
Cat in the bushes
found more than
it could chew,
bird in the bushes,
a golden eagle flew.

THE HUNTED

To the centre, green
leaves they did litter,
skittering deer,
into the camouflage
of tented trees.

THE ADVENTURE HUNTER

Some days he’s on the battlefront,
some days he’s on the beach asleep
beyond where waves can reach,
and some days he’s an adventure
hunter – seeker of treasured gold,
lost from Spanish galleons tossed
in storms that breach a ship ashore.
But today he’s just a little boy
with a sniffy, snotty nose, who’s
tucked up in his bed, and fed
yummy warming soup until he’s
totally and completely well.
